In late 2012, no longer with Eleven Seven, Trapt toured the US before releasing their sixth album Reborn the following January with the short-lived Epochal Artist Records. Their two albums for Eleven Seven both peaked in the top 30 with their combined five singles charting modestly on the rock charts. Sixx added Trapt to their 2008 Crue Fest tour alongside Papa Roach, Buckcherry and Sixx:AM. The band shopped their new recordings to several labels, signing with Eleven Seven Records (overseen by Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx). There was no official parting of the ways we just said, ‘We’re leaving,’ and there was no response, so we were out of there.

Their second album was moderately successful, but didn’t meet Warner’s expectations so the label stopped responding to the band: Two follow-up singles also performed well on the rock charts. Former drummer Monty Montgomery explained the origin of the band’s name: Trapt is an American rock band that formed in Los Gatos, California in 1995, best known for their 2003 hit “Headstrong”.
